The damages in a personal injury claim, whether it’s a bicycle or a car accident case, or a medical malpractice or product liability claim, the damages are, your out-of-pocket medical expenses caused by the accident. Future medical expenses that doctors say you are likely to incur. Past lost wages because of not being able to go to work because of the injuries. Future lost wages are also part of the damages.

And then the intangible damages. Intangible damages are those damages meant to compensate you for how your life is different now, than it was before the accident.
